During the months of June, July and August the Native Village of
Paimiut allows for traditional subsistence leave to be taken for ALL our employees. Traditional gathering activities, fishing and hunting are central to the perpetuation of our culture and to ensure our families have traditional foods for their families. That means that on occasion, responses to email or phone calls may be delayed during these months. Tribal members seeking requests during subsistence heavy months need to be submitted well ahead of the anticipated need. Please contact only Tribal office or Tribally provided cell phones (and not personal cells) DURING OFFICE HOURS if you need to get in touch with a Native Village of Paimiut employee and/orTraditional Council member. We thank you for your understanding and hope you will be taking some time to enjoy the all too brief and action packed Alaska summer! Quyana!
